Groove Addicts Scores SFX Premiere In Theatres

Groove Addicts is flattening its competition once again, launching the Full Tilt and Trynity Cinema scoring products, specifically designed for major motion pictures, trailers, DVDs, and television marketing programs. Full Tilt, a blockbuster-level composer scoring series whose "Road to Glory" track has already been licensed for the Cinderella Man trailer, is available in 5.1 Surround as well as stereo. Each of Full Tilt's smart, stylized scores can be licensed exclusively for a specific film or TV campaign.
Trynity Cinema offers high impact interactive sound effects and scoring tools for the creation of a complete custom score. These product releases position Groove Addicts at the forefront of growing demand for high definition formats, challenging industry leaders X-Ray Dog and Immediate Music.
Dain Blair, Tony Phillips Awarded Top BMI Honors

Groove Addicts' Dain Blair and Tony Philips landed a coveted 2005 BMI Film & TV Award for their "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (EMHE) television series score. The awards honor the composers and songwriters of music from this year's top-grossing films, top-rated prime-time network television series and highest-ranking cable network television series. More than 100 awards were announced during the annual Film & Television Awards black-tie gala in May. Other 2005 TV award winners included the composers for "CSI," "The Apprentice 2 & 3", "Desperate Housewives," and "Joey." Sister series "Extreme Makeover" is also scored by Groove Addicts.

G.A. Orchestrates Family Moments For Sony; Bangs "Drums" For Mitsubishi

On Groove Addicts' crowded commercial slate, four spots for Sony's DVD Handicam and Cybershot cameras use poignant musical backdrops to infuse family scenes with nostalgia and emotion. The :60s, out of the Bagby and Company agency, Chicago, were composed by Craig Marks ("Nursery" & "Sisters,") Rob Bennett ("Firefly,") and Howard Pfeifer ("Wedding.")

Stewart Copeland composes a Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial that's all about percussion. "Drums", out of BBDO, New York, highlights Copeland's penchant for using massive Japanese Taiko drums. The drums are brought to dramatic life by footage of the drums being played by tribal looking men and exotic woman, intercut with stylized footage of the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Copeland, along with well-known studio session musician Brian Kilgore, played the Taiko drums by hand for the spot, as they had on BBDO New York's award-winning Mountain Dew "Sled" commercial last year.

Seventies mega-hit "Love Train" is reborn in Coors Light spot "Love Train", which Groove Addicts remixed using the original 16 tracks, provided by Philadelphia's legendary disco powerhouse Gamble-Huff Music. Groove Addicts' Sound Designer Jonathan Miller created the larger than life audio signature of the train in the spot.

Best Thing About The Movie? The Trailer...

At the Sixth Annual Golden Trailer Awards show in Los Angeles, many Groove Addicts clients were nominated and some clients took home the heavy metal, including a Best Romance nod for Mojohouse for A Very Long Engagement. Congratulations to all of the nominated companies and especially to the winners at Trailer Park, Craig Murray, mOcean, Miramax, Cimarron, Skip Film and Mark Woollen. And let's not forget those great trailer companies that were absent from this years festivities...we are sure that they'll bag some trophies next year!

GA Rocks Newscasting World

Los Angeles KCOP Channel 13 has one of the youngest, hippest and most contemporary newscasts in the country. So it is fitting that when seeking a new sound for this 11 p.m. newscast, KCOP producers challenged Groove Addicts to create "probably the most aggressive news package we've ever done for any station – TV or radio," according to GA Creative Director Dain Blair. Groove composers Harry Cody and Phil X were given an unprecedented amount of creative freedom to create a high-energy rock package with a slight Latin flavor. The result is a Los Angeles newscast whose sound is making news!

Custom Jingle, Imaging Services Go Worldwide

A custom jingle package for the new Italian national AC network R 101 (formally Radio Milano 101) is just one example of Groove Addicts recent takeover of the International airwaves. New (syndicated) Groove jingles were created for Hard Rock FM and Cosmopolitan FM in Indonesia. Premium imaging service Trynity HD/FX has also been doing some globe trotting, adding Slager Radio in Hungary to its list of International clients. Groove Tools imaging service is also crossing the border, landing Canadian affiliates CIRK FM in Edmonton and CHIQ FM in Winnepeg.

Jordan Goldberg Turns Up Groove Addicts TV

Cranking up the volume on Groove Addicts television is Jordan Goldberg's new mission. He'll be selling custom news packages and licensing Groove Addicts' production music to TV stations nationwide. Jordan comes to Groove from Paramount Pictures Domestic Television, where he garnered some very impressive contacts selling top shows and features such as Entertainment Tonight and The Insider. "Jordan's experience in TV syndication makes him a perfect complement to our team," notes Groove Addicts' Cindy Rosmann. Jordan's excited to be at Groove because the music products he's offering "are not your cookie cutter solutions but a whole, wide range, from high-end classic to up-to-the-second trendy.
