Six-Time Grammy Winner Jose Feliciano Grooves On One Touch Commercial

Recording with Latin pop phenomenon Jose Feliciano was all in a day's work for Groove Addicts pros, who traveled to the 275 year old barn at Feliciano's estate in Connecticut to lay down vocal and guitar tracks for a OneTouch Ultra Blood Glucose Monitoring Systems campaign. San Francisco, Calif. Agency Anderson DDB chose Groove Addicts once again to continue their strategy of using celebrities -- including Blues legend BB King in spots created last year -- to demonstrate how One Touch products make life easier for those suffering diabetes. "Jose was really accommodating - a consummate professional," says Groove Addicts Creative Director Dain Blair. "His extremely unique voice and instrumental style, combined with the way he nailed everything very quickly - made our jaws drop." Feliciano feels that the campaign is a good fit for him. "I believe in music, because it is the best healer of all wounds," Feliciano says.

An additional recording session for One Touch featuring Feliciano and BB King will take place later this year in Manhattan.

"Extreme Makeover Home Edition" One Of The Only Reality Series To Feature Full Symphony In Its Score

Groove Addicts recorded 14 new orchestral cues for reality TV mega hit "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (EMHE) with a 60 piece orchestra in Bratislava, Slovakia. EMHE sent a video crew to tape the orchestra session for a future "Extreme Makeover Home Edition- How Did They Do That" episode, which will also feature series host Ty Pennington attending a recording session at Groove Addicts in West Los Angeles. Sister series "Extreme Makeover" is also scored by Groove Addicts.

In other series news, fabulous musical selections from Groove Addicts have found a home on Bravo's mega-hit style series "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and spin-off series "Queer Eye for the Straight Girl."

Strike Up The Band With Liftmusic

Continuing to add indie and garage band-produced music libraries to its catalog, Groove Addicts now distributes Liftmusic, an all-new contemporary label out of the U.K. Acoustic-based band Ox, whose debut album "Blood" has been likened by London's Sunday Telegraph to the sound of rock icons Cold Play and Radiohead, headlines the collection.

Canadian TV Markets Get Addicted

Seeking a sound that would break through the clutter on Canadian television, Groove Addicts created a custom image campaign for Rogers Television's 31 stations. The package GA completed blew Rogers executive Ray Skaff away with its versatility. Says Groove Addicts' Dain Blair, "We were able to create a music package that could be tailored for different provinces of Canada. For example, Toronto's music was more urban, whereas the material used for rural areas was warmer and more acoustic." GA collaborated on the project with leading design firm V.D.O. out of Saint Petersburg, Florida. VDO's Dianne Streyer explains, "Rogers needed to revitalize its on-air look -- to freshen the graphics and reinforce "local matters," and in this case local means 31 stations across the entire country. Groove Addicts hit the mark with the initial musical logo and regional versions which knocked us out!"

A multi-year marketing arrangement has been struck between Groove Addicts and United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. (USRN), an independent leader in original network radio programming. The deal, which also includes Mann Group Radio, establishes USRN as the exclusive marketing representative for Groove Addicts' commercial inventory.

This new Web-delivered imaging service has added affiliate stations KUDD & KUUU in Salt Lake City, UT; WLAN in Harrisburg, PA; WGGY in Wilkes-Barre, PN, WDYL in Richmond, VA and international clients Switzerland Radio aktuell and Tokyo FM Inter-Wave. Audio wizard Robert Dudzic creates imaging effects for the service.

"Trynity HD/FX is an imaging package that can't help but make your station sound kick ass! The cutting noises and smooth transitions combine for killer sweeps and tight promos... one right after the other," says KUUU/KUDD Salt Lake City's A.J. Carson.

When Chef Raul Cooks, Agencies Eat It Up

"Chef Raul is famous for his crab cakes and his amazing attitude," says Groove Addicts' Sharon Blair. Raul was discovered at a local Santa Monica Italian restaurant four years ago When the Blairs asked the owner/chef to cook for them for a special dinner at their home, he was unavailable, and sent his second chef, Raul. After cooking up a storm at the Blair's home, he became Groove Addicts' chef on call.

"Everyone loves to plan their sessions around lunch to partake in Chef Raul's creative cuisine," says Dain Blair. Recent clients who have sampled Raul's creations are Rory Phoenix of Anderson DDB-San Francisco, Lisa Von Drehle, Doug Behm and Canice Neary of Element79 in Chicago and Trish Bugitzedes and Michael Blaney of Direct Partners, Marina Del Rey.
