It was anything but "The Thrill is Gone" for Groove Addicts composers and Executive Producer/Owner Dain Blair when they were chosen by San Francisco agency, Anderson DDB, to create two commercials and three songs to be performed by BB King this spring. The spots and songs, for client OneTouch Ultra Blood Glucose Monitoring Systems, were written and co-performed by Groove Addicts composer/guitarists Carl Verheyen (Supertramp) and Bruce Watson (guitarist for Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Stewart Copeland/Police and Christina Aguilera.) King was a natural for the spots, which feature the immortal bluesman, himself a diabetic, belting out the tunes in a cafe. "BB is a gracious, genuine nice guy whose persona fills up the room," says Blair. "Our recording session with him at Clinton Studios in New York City was... magical."
